Creature Concept I

This is my latest work done with an Intuos 4 and Photoshop CS3. A creature conceptual design. The most enjoyable part of creating this is adding little details and grotesque designs on it... finally giving it a classic old portrait treatment.

For the last 3 years, I have living a swell life in America as a student and intern. I graduated from Savannah College of Art & Design and was conferred with a Master in Fine Arts majoring in Animation. Then soon after, I landed an internship with The Walt Disney Company (Imagineering/ Parks & Resorts Online) doing designs and concept art. It has been almost a year since and a great opportunity to sharpen my art skills.

Well, my goal is to stay in the US for another year, and my ultimate dream is to work in an animation studio. Whatever it takes.

My Deviantart

For the last 1-2 years I have been a Facebooker, and has neglected deviantart for a long long time. At the same time, I went about without a focus, especially in the field of art.I need to find something that I would love to do for a living and stick to it. Now I am just doing everything but good at none. I have been listing those things that I would love doing. There are so many and I am kinda on an ocean, being tossed about, lost and not knowing where to go. All I need is a direction and I will head out for it. But for now, I have none.

Now back to Deviantart.... I have decided to shift my focus back to my deviantart account, especially when there is so much talk about rights issue and usage rights in Facebook. I have been posting my art and sketches on Facebook and Flickr, just because the core interests in both sites are different. I am posting my travel sketches in Flickr mostly because I found many Journal sketchers there, and I love their art as much as I wanted to show mine to them. Facebook is mainly for my friends, to stay connected and to update friends with what I am doing. Some are interested in my art but the purpose is not about selling.

Posting on deviantart makes me post finished art and I really want to get back to making them. I am gonna give myself specific genre so I will stick to it for a period of time and see what I can come up with, just to stay focus. Yes, that will be my plan!! (pat on shoulder)
